A Day To Remember - For Those Who Have Heart (Victory)

Last year when Victory Records signed Ocala, Florida natives A Day To Remember I was pretty surprised. I had been listening to the band for quite some time by then and felt that they could do quite well on a label larger than Indianola. Their Victory debut For Those Who Have Heart is everything that I fell in love with the first time I heard the band on their album “And Their Name Was Treason”. Their mixture of pop punk and hardcore actually works and they fittingly dubbed it pop-mosh. Right from the opening track the album makes you want to move. “Fast Forward To 2012”, which is an ode to friends starts of this release perfectly with its fast riffs and breakdown that will open any pit. Like their first release, they slow it down in the middle with an acoustic track (The Price We Pay). The album then picks the speed back up and then finishes off strongly with “Start the Shooting”. A Day To Remember, who consist of vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neil Westfall and Tom Denney, bassist Joshua Woodard, and drummer Alex Shellnutt (who is only 16) are going to be big in 2007. As stated boldly in “A Shot in the Dark”, “Mark my words, we’re taking over the world".
