Interview conducted with Padge, guitarist for Bullet For My Valentine on September 29, 2006 at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg, FL.  Conducted by Nick Zimmer and Matt Steinhauer.  He was very soft spoken and nice.  This is what we got.

First off can you state your name and what you do in the band?
My name is Padge and I play guitar.

How did you come up with the name Bullet For My Valentine?
We were drunk in a pub one night and we needed a fresh start and a fresh name because we had a new bass player. So we wrote done a bunch of names on a piece of paper and chose the best one.

Was there any significance to The Poison being released in the US on Valentines Day?
There was. It’s Bullet For My Valentine.

Who did the artwork for The Poison?
(Asks Matt) Lobocka Designs. It’s an English company.

You’re co headlining this tour with Eighteen Visions. How is going so far?
Good.

You’re going to be opening up for Iron Maiden. How did that come about?
It has a lot to do with management. I don’t really know.

You have dates booked through the end of November. What are your plans for after that?
We have a little break for Christmas and then we go into the studio and start recording album number two and then more touring.

So far have you written any new material at all?
Yeah, lots.

When do you think the new album will be out?
Hopefully around summer next year.

What happened on the Rob Zombie tour earlier this year?
We left.

How did you guys hook up with Trustkill Records?
I’m not quite sure.

Who came up with the concept for the Tears Don’t Fall video and who did you work with on that?
(To Matt the singer/guitarist) Was it you that came up with it or was it some guy. It was the director guy. We actually did two videos for it and we used the second one.

You were able to pen up for Guns n Roses earlier this year. How was that?
In New York? It was good man. It was good to part of fucking history.

You have had songs featured on four different video games. How does that come about?
I think management again. People are realizing the power of a video game.

Are any of you guys gamers?
Yeah, Matt especially. Just got Resident Evil. We play Guitar Hero and we all have PSP’s.

You were able to play some dates on the Warped Tour this year. What was that like?
Yeah, two weeks. It was good man, but it was tough.

How was it playing the Download Festival for the 3rd year?
It was good because we’ve finally reached the fucking main stage. It was awesome.

How do the European shows differ from the States?
At the moment they’re a lot bigger. Hopefully we can start getting some bigger shows in the States. We started over there so we’re a little bigger there.

What can someone who has never seen you live expect at one of your shows?
Kickass live show. Balls out metal.

That’s all we have. Do you have any last words for the fans and readers?
Cheers to everyone who likes our fucking band.
