Chasing Victory - Fiends (Mono Vs. Stereo)

The first time that I had heard Chasing Victory mentioned was in our interview with Across Five Aprils. Shortly thereafter I started listening to the band and their first release. This is the second release for Chasing Victory, and in my mind it is a bit of a step back. Musically this album just doesn’t hit me as hard as the first time I listened to their debut, I Call This Abandonment. This album starts off with the track Chemicals, a fast paced track that will have any listener of post hardcore/screamo paying attention. After that, this album is good, it just doesn’t hold my attention for more than a few songs. I do however dig the concept of this album, which is facing our demons/confronting our sins and the official one word track titles. I had higher hopes for this album but wasn't completely disappointed.  Besides Chemicals, there just aren't any tracks that stick with me. For a first time listener, I would suggest picking up their debut first, but still give this album a shot.
