First off can you say your name and what you do in
the band?
Yeah, my name is Brad and I play keyboards in Chiodos.
The band was originally name The Chiodos
Brothers. Can you explain the name and why it was shortened?
The reason behind the name is that it’s after a horror movie production. We
made the change for a lot of different reasons. We got some new members and
we got a new label and things were about to elevate in our music career so
if we were going to change that was the time to do it.
All’s Well That Ends Well is being re released.
Was that the bands decision or the label?
Both. We thought it would be cool just because it’s been out and it didn’t
get enough distribution. So now we have it out there and have some new
things on it.
Who did the artwork?
Paul Romano did it again.
How did you guys hook up with Equal Vision?
Just woke up one morning and there was something in my email inbox saying
that they heard us online and saw we were touring a lot. Word spread. We
work hard.
You guys never stop touring. Do you plan on
taking some time off to write?
Right after this tour we will be home for a few months. We’ve already been
working on some stuff. We’re pretty excited.
I caught you at both days of Bamboozle Fest.
How did you end up playing both days and who came up with the name Fluff My
Boner?
(Asking Sal, their tour manager) How did we end up on both days?
Sal: We had a show in Long Island on the Armor For Sleep tour in February,
wait, it was in March and that show was completely fucking crazy. So at that
show the promoter asked us to do the second day. He set that all up, but in
order to play the second day we had to have a different name.
Brad: It was Dave Arnold that came up with the name. He’s our guitar tech.
How was the Warped Tour experience?
Warped Tour was amazing. I don’t know any bands that complain about doing
it. I can see if you were doing it in a van, but we had a bus. I can’t see
it being possible to do it in a van, especially after having a bus. Warped
tour was awesome. The exposure was crazy. It really surprised me how many
people were coming out to watch us.
Why does HORSE the band dislike you guys so
much?
I don’t know who that band even is.
How is this tour going so far and how was
playing here last night?
Last night was cool. This one was a lot better though. Definitely a lot more
vibe from the crowd. It’s awesome. I’m having a great time.
If you could play a show with any three
artists, past or present, who would they be?
I would have to say Queen, At the Drive In, and The Format. I’ve really been
into The Format lately.
What’s the scene like back in Michigan? Any
bands we should watch out for?
Yeah there’s a couple. One is on tour right now, Anathallo. They’re one of
my favorites. There’s a band that’s like a little brother of ours, The
Downers. Other than that, I haven’t been home lately so I don’t really know
what’s going on.
If you could fight anyone who would it be?
I’m not really a violent dude when I’m sober. After some beers, I don’t
know. I’ll fight anybody after a couple of beers. Maybe that little kid
running right there.
You’re also in Cinematic Sunrise.
When can we expect that EP?
We just put a couple of songs online and I’m not sure of the exact timing of
the EP. Maybe we’ll just go all out and do an LP next year some time. So
next year for sure.
Do you have any last words for the fans and
readers?
If you’re a fan, thanks for listening to our music. It means the world to
us. We’ve sacrificed everything for years and we really appreciate every
last person that listens to our music. So thank you.
