So I spent my New Years Eve with Dead Reckless, Chiodos, The #12 Looks Like You, and From First To Last at the Dead By Dawn II Tour.  It was an incredible night.  I'll leave a breakdown of each bands set.

Dead Reckless - Good Music, bad vocals.  I really enjoyed the musical aspect of their set but the vocals were way off.  They were good for an opening band, but I doubt I would go see them If they were to do their own tour.

Chiodos - Absolutely amazing.  I had only heard a few songs by them before tonight and I was not expecting anything amazing.  Well, they were great.  Full of energy and absolutely worked the crowd over.  30 Minutes was definitely not enough time for them and the crowd let them know with boo's after they announced they were playing their last song, and even had encore chants going on.

The #12 Looks Like You - Brutal.  These guys are heavy.  They reminded me a lot of The Black Dahlia Murder, only The #12 Looks Like You has two vocalists/singer/growlers.  They were at times Grindcore  meets Melodic Metal.  They were great as well and deserved more time.

From First To Last - This was my first time feeing FFTL and I don't know whether I should be disappointed or not.  The set was amazing, the only problem with it was it was short.  They only played seven songs.  The energy though was through the roof.  It is amazing how such a young vocalist (Sonny Moore)  can be so good.  Although if he continues to scream at the pace he's going now, he won't have a voice for too much longer.  They played a new song off their upcoming album, Heroine.  It was just as good as their previous material, if not better.  2006 is going to be a big year for FFTL.  Check them out on tour in the spring with Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, and the All American Rejects.

I also failed to mention that FFTL had a new bass player last night.  For the earlier portion of the tour, Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit was playing bass, but last night Mikey Way's fiance played bass.  She was amazing.  Mikey also came out and played bass for FFTL during the song Christmassacre.  It was outstanding.  Mikey is a really down to earth, cool guy.
