Darkest Hour - Deliver Us (Victory)
Following up 2005’s Undoing Ruin, Darkest Hour are back with Deliver Us, 11
tracks that pick up right where Undoing Ruin left off. That isn’t an easy
thing to do, as Undoing Ruin was a masterpiece. Deliver Us starts off with
Doomsayers (The Beginning of the End), a blistering track that starts off
with some slow guitar work but then erupts. Deliver Us is by far the most
melodic album that Darkest Hour have put out, and is displayed best on
tracks like Demons and Deliver Us. As the frontrunners in the American led
Gothenburg scene, Darkest Hour do not disappoint with Deliver Us. This album
would make At the Gates proud. The guitar work on this album is fantastic.
Kris Norris and Mike Schleibaum are two of the most underrated and
underappreciated guitarist in metal and prove that with their flawless
sweeps and solos on this album. To top it off, again Devin Townsend
production is absolutely genius and has this album sounding crystal clear.
This is one of the better metals I have heard in the past few years. Check
this out.
