EDGUY-Rocket Ride (01-20-06) Nuclear Blast  

Its like I have been teleported back into the eighty’s, and loving it. Spawning from Germany, Edguy has that special sound that is unique to power metal. They compare to another Nuclear Blast Records band, Sonata Arctica, in terms of genre anyway. I especially enjoy tracks one and two (sacrifice; rocket ride). They are both fun to listen to, and very powerful. I found myself listening to this CD in my car over and over….and then over again. Every song brilliantly blends into the next, and you can’t help but keep listening.  Edguy’s vocal perfection is backed up by face melting guitar and drum solos that is customary to every good power metal band. Edguy is extremely talented, and I expect them to be huge in the near future. To any listener of good old-fashioned metal, you will be remiss if Edguy’s Rocket Ride is not a part of your CD collection.
