Eternal Lord - Blessed Be This Nightmare (Ferret)

First of all I’m going to start this by saying this will be a biased review. After Ed Butcher left I Killed The Prom Queen and joined Eternal Lord this album became my most anticipated release of 2008. I’ a complete fan boy and this review will show that. When I first heard the demo of Get To Fuck on the bands Myspace I got excited for how amazing this album would be and I have not been let down. From Butchers ruthless vocals (In my opinion, the best in metal) to Chris and Shaun’s overwhelming breakdowns and riffing to Stu’s furious drum work. Really, what Eternal Lord are doing is something that’s been done before but they do it so damn well. Every time I listen to the album and Ed drops the line “God Damn” to bring in a monster of a breakdown on “Get To Fuck” I want to hit someone. This is one of the most intense albums I have ever heard. There is not a single track that isn’t worth listening to and the production is spot on. The album even has a nice breather with the instrumental track Amity that sets you up perfectly for the next track, “O Brothel Where Art Thou”. If you haven’t noticed by now, I thoroughly enjoyed this album and recommend it to anyone who is into metal. Actually, even if you don’t like metal you should check this out.

Coming soon: A review from a non fan boy.
