Here I Come Falling - Oh Grave, Where Is Thy Victor
(Rise)
Oh Grave, Where Is Thy Victor is the debut record on Rise Records for Here I
Come Falling. The sextet from Springfield, Missouri have produced a catchy
synth induced metal core album. Much in the vein of label mates The Devil
Wears Prada, Here I Come Falling mix chugging riffs, heavy breakdowns, and a
ton of screaming over some pretty sweet keyboard loops. The vocals on this
album stand out with not only the Underoath esque screaming but also the
lows that would catch the attention of any metal fan. Like all bands on Rise
Records, Here I Come Falling are a Christian band, which is noticeable not
only by the Biblical reference in the band name, but also in the groups
lyrics. While Here I Come Falling are not producing anything that has not
been done before, but they are producing songs that are much better than
most. Everything is well crafted on Oh Grave, from the music to the well
written lyrics that actually have depth and meaning to them. Drawing
similarities to both Underoath and The Devil Wears Prada, not only will Here
I Come Falling not have a problem making themselves known in the scene, they
should be one of the bands leading the future of metalcore.
