Knives Exchanging Hands - Hiatus (Tragic Hero)
When I first listened to this album I really couldn’t get into it. It’s not
that I thought the band sucked or the album was lame, it was just like
everything else. After a few more listens this is really growing on me.
Hiatus is a slow starter, but the album really picks up a few songs in.
Knives Exchanging Hands aren’t really bringing anything new to the table but
they are bringing an album that is quite enjoyable. It has everything that
you would expect from a metal core album like tons of breakdowns, screaming
layered with clean vocals, and even the occasional sweep. Every so often you
will also find a movie sample thrown in, which is a trend that is picking up
quick. When done right it can add quite a bit to a song and Knives
Exchanging Hands have found that happy medium. The production for Hiatus is
one of the more noticeable aspects as it is crystal clear. Although Knives
Exchanging Hands aren’t the next big thing in the scene, Hiatus is an album
that should be given a chance.
