Mayday Parade - Tales Told By Dead Friends (Fearless)

So for anyone who has ever been to the Warped Tour knows that while you are waiting in line you will have a bunch of people from small bands come up to you and ask to listen to their music. Last year this was the case with myself and Mayday Parade and I politely declined. Now that I actually have this EP I am pretty bummed I didn’t give them a chance. Tales Told By Dead Friends is the debut EP from Mayday Parade on Fearless Records and it doesn’t disappoint. For pop punk/indie rock this is one of the better releases this year. I haven’t listened to something so catchy since the first time I heard Fall Out Boy’s “Take This To Your Grave”. This EP is only six tracks, so it is going to leave you wanting more. Even though the emo scene is over saturated with a million bands that sound the same, Mayday Parade’s three guitar and at times three vocalist approach should help them stand out. For a debut EP, this also has amazing production. So kudos to Mayday Parade. I made the mistake of writing this band off at first, so don’t make the same mistake I did and give this a chance.
