Email interview with Andy, drummer for See You Next Tuesday.

First off can you state your name and what you do in the band?
Andy Dalton, Drums

When did the band for and how did all of the members meet?
We've all been mutual friends for a while. Pretty much through our local music scene.

Can you elaborate on the name of the band and how it relates to Sex and the City and anything else?
It's a reference from that show, yes and we're a fan of the phrase in general. Also the name kinda pokes fun at band names that have days of the week in their band name. Our name isn't all that incredibly serious.

You recently signed to Ferret Records. How did that come about and what was it like switching from Debello to Ferret?
Since we've started we've always done things our selves and haven't needed too much outside help getting our shit done. We recorded our 3 song sampler before we were with Debello, and Ferret picked us up right after we played the 10th annual Dirt Fest. A bunch of Ferret bands and staff were at the show apparently and the word spread. Some things are easier being on Ferret, but we're definately going to step it up a notch since we're playing in a much bigger ball field so to speak.

Had any other labels shown interest?

We've heard some things, yes and no. I don't wanna name drop. But had we not gone with Ferret, we probably would have gone with Hewhocorrupts INC. Those are really good guys and they have their heads on straight.

When can we expect a release out on Ferret?
March 20th if all goes according to plan

You’re hitting the road with Job For a Cowboy and Psyopus early next year. Stoked?
Extremely. We've played some shows with Job and they're all great guys. Very down to earth. We just got done with a tour with Psyopus, and we'll be quite happy to see them again. =)

If you could play a show with any three artists, past or present, who would they be?
Van Halen, KoRn, Tu Pac

How did you guys hook up with Travis after the departure of Rick on bass?
Travis played guitar in Gnarly Davidson with Rick and is a friend of all of ours. He's very passionate about music and is almost like a walking encyclopedia for bands in this scene.

Who has been your favorite bands to share the stage with?
Converge, Great Redneck Hope, Number 12 Looks Like You, and Ed Gein probably.

Metallica or Megadeth?
Old Metallica I guess. The real question is Hagar or Roth?

What is the scene like in Michigan?
Detroit kids will kill you. For the most part everyone knows everyone in this state. It's not all sectioned off. Michigan is really good about supporting their artists and whatnot. Very rarely are there "area code wars." Kids really like music here cause we're kind of an ignored part of the country and there isn't much to do.

You have some pretty gnarly/graphic song titles. How do you come up with the titles?
Almost everything is a reference to a movie or a tv show or something silly. Watch enough movies and television and you'll figure them all out.

Do you guys have any pre show rituals?
Aside from finding everyone in the band and telling them that it's time to play, the only thing we really do is stretch and ask where the free water is ha ha.

Where do you think the band would be without sites like Myspace and Purevolume?
We didn't rely on either of those to get us going, but they certainly helped big time. Myspace in particular. We just used the tried and true method of working your ass off and playing as many shows as we can handle. But both sites are invaluable tools for anyone looking to start a band these days. It really blows my mind what it's doing to the local music scenes.

That’s it. Do you have any last words for the fans and readers?
Support your scene. No band will ever get anywhere without your help. So buy as many t shirts and cds as you possible can. That money goes towards gas and food! Don't sit outside the venues all night. If you paid money to see bands play, go watch them. And give bands you've never heard of before a chance. They just might blow you away.
