To/Die/For - Wounds Wide Open (Spinefarm)

Well, well, well.  Here is the new disc from one of my top five favorite artists of all time. Once again, I feel the need to back track before I really do get started.  I first heard of TDF about 7 years ago while searching for music to listen to/review for my now defunct webzine. Basically, I was only listening to black metal back then, specifically symphonic BM, and only wanted to hear something with an insane amount of keyboards. That being said, I stumbled upon TDF, and realized how much I loved them.

The music was extremely catchy and keyboard heavy, it incorporated all the best parts of symphonic BM, just without all of the ferocity, and extreme lyrics and vocals that the aforementioned style of music produced. But I loved it all the same, and possibly even better. Because the song structure relied on choruses that made you sing along with it, you had to judge it on a different level. This was not just Pure Metal, it was romantic metal with a less extreme twist. I would have to say that I listened to this disc at least two times a day.  It was completely infectious. From the extremely professional sound of all instruments.  The keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and everything surrounding, to make you understand that this band is one to be recognized.

This takes us to the new release. Here there is nothing that falls short of anything that TDF has ever done. All along they have been a band that always takes their OWN sound to a new level. But really, they only progress accordingly, because they never do anything different to change their own style. but that is a good thing, because their own style is absolutely amazing and flawless. Just as every other one of their albums produce, this is an extremely amazing release of super catchy, romantic metal. This release showcases their superb and technical guitar riffagery, fine, stable and impressive drum tracks, downright catchy, and important keyboard passages, and refined, clean vocal tracks. Everything on this album is excellent, they do not go wrong in any sense, anyone who listens will not be disappointed!!! I Love this album and feel that anyone who will give this a chance will...
So all, get your ass out of the cold, and purchase this great release today! If you do not feel compelled to do so, than you truly do not belong in this scene, and may better feel comfortable downloading the new Justin Timberlake!!!
