The City Drive

1. First off can you state your name and what you do in the band?
Danny Smith: I'm Danny Smith. I sing and play guitar.
Scott Waldman: My name is Scott Waldman and I play bass and sing backup
vocals.
Marc Precilla: Marc Precilla. Drums.

2. Where does the name The City Drive come from?
SW: The name "The City Drive" is a metaphor for perseverance in a big
city. It is also a street in Orange County.

3. How long have you guys been playing together?
SW: We started playing together in late 2003 and every single day has
been
greater than the last!

4. You have a new cd coming out, "Always Moving Never Stopping". What
does that title mean to you?
SW: Energetic. Productive. Reproductive.

5. Who did you work with on the cd?
SW: We recorded the album in the summer of 2005 with producer Chris
Fudurich and engineer Erik Reichers. It was a surreal experience!

6. How did you get signed to We The People Records?
SW: The WTP people got a hold of some TCD demos and it's been L-O-V-E
ever
since.

7. What are your touring plans for the summer?
DS: We're currently setting up a bunch of hot and sexy tours that
should keep us busy until the end of the year. We can't release any
details yet, but I'm pretty sure we'll be playing in almost every state
this year.

8. Danny had two pieces published in the book Revolutions on Canvas.
How were you approached for that?
DS: It was an honor and a lifelong dream to become a published writer.
I have always written poems and stories so when Revolution came
knocking on my AOL door, I had a good backlog of works to choose from.
I may have another piece in the second ROC, too. I'm also releasing a
collection of humor writing which I also edited. I've contributing a
few short stories to it but there are also many great stories from
other writers I approached. It'll probably come out in a year or so. It
takes a long time for ideas to appear on bookshelves.

9. You recently finished up a tour. How was that?
DS: It was so much fun. We all had a blast. Beautiful cities, beautiful
people. We were out for five weeks and we already can't wait to get
back on the road.

10. Who are some of your biggest influences?
DS: Cute girls.

11. Do you have any pre show rituals?
DS: We all climb on each other's shoulders, creating a human totem
pole. Then we try to jump over a shoe. We never make it without falling
and the guy on top usually chips a tooth.

12. Who did the artwork for "Always Moving Never Stopping"?
DS: A genius by the name of Thomas Schostok who goes by the name THS. I
picked him from a list of 100 artists and I am so glad we got him. I
love his style and I love every square millimeter he created for our
album's booklet. I want to work with him in the future, for sure.

13. If you could play a show with any three artists, past or present,
who would they be?
SW: 1. The Beatles 2. Green Day 3. Winger

14. Who has been your favorite band to share the stage with?
SW: In January we played a show with the Matches. It was definitely an
amazing start to an energetic year. Hopefully we will tour with them in
the future.

15. How did you go about getting your music into the movies "American
Pie: Band camp" and "Yours, Mine and Ours"?
DS: Our publisher, Famous music, is always pitching our songs to flim &
TV productions. We got lucky with those two and it was cool for us to
go to the theater and hear our songs on the big screen.

16. How does it feel to have "Always Moving Never Stopping" be number 1
on the top one hundred chart on Smartpunk.com?
DS: It is a fantastic surprise! I never would've thought we'd get to
number one so quickly and we're lucky that we've been able to hold on
to that spot for a few weeks now. We sincerely want to thank everyone
who pre-ordered the album. It's because of those people that we are
there and we are truly grateful.

17. When you aren't on tour what do you do for fun?
SW: Our interests range from modern architecture to tennis. Really.

18. Thanks for taking the time to do this. Do you have any last words
for the readers?
Danny, u take this one
DS: Have a good time all the time.
