Underminded - Eleven:Eleven (Uprising)

This year has been a pretty good year for new releases, and it just keeps getting better. Underminded are back with their sophmore effort and first release for Uprising Records after being label less with the demise of Kung Fu Records. Eleven:Eleven is eleven tracks of the most pissed of metalcore I have ever heard. Scratch that, ten tracks, as the opening track Enfermia, Part III: The Recovery is an epic build up to the brutal Ya Basta featuring Marc from Atreyu. That’s not the only guest appearance, as Vic from Pierce the Veil shows up on the track In Complacent Glass Cannons and Marc makes another appearance on Empty Handed Painter. The lyrical overtone isn’t as much political as Hail Unamerican but it’s presence is still there. Vocalist Nick Martin explores more personal issues on Eleven such as relationships and changing your life. The raw emotion and brutality of this album compare to no other release this year and will stand the test of time of the fading metal core scene. Underminded definitely went the right direction after Hail Unamerican and will hopefully be pumping out more material like this in the future.
