With Blood Comes Cleansing - Horror (Victory)
With Blood Comes Cleansing are back with a new lineup, new label, and a new
level of brutality. Since the release of Golgotha (Blood and Ink Records)
the band has recruited a new vocalist and taken their brand of Black Dahlia
Murder meets Jesus deathcore to a new level. New vocalist Dean Atkinson is a
perfect fit for the band and does some of the best vocal work in this genre.
The shrieks are more ear piercing and the lows are more punishing than
previous vocalist Mike Sasser. The band does not shy away from their beliefs
on Horror as the lyrics are some of the most intense Christian lyrics I have
ever seen. Don’t let that steer you away from the album though as it is one
of the heaviest albums that I’ve heard in a while. The dual guitar attack of
Jeremy Sims and Scott Erickson and rhythem section of bassist Dennis Frazier
and drummer Matt Fidler will have you going from circle pits to two stepping
and hardcore dancing all in the same song. The only thing that really
bothers me with this album (and like most albums these days) is that all but
two songs are under three minutes. The label jumping will definitely help
With Blood Comes Cleansing get their name and sound out there. Victory
stepped it up with this signing and I expect nothing but solid albums coming
from this band for quite some time.
