Release after release, Prosthetic records never seems to fail me or come up short. In my opinion they are the premier record label for all the new and original metal albums that have been coming out lately. With the newest releases from Light this City and Burn in Silence Prosthetic is proving to be a hard hitting entity that has something to prove to the extreme music community.
So, here we go again with another killer "Metal as Hell" band set for their sophomore effort to hit stores on Jan. 23, 2007. YOD is straight up brutal, intense, uncompromising metal straight out of Indiana. If you want to get a little more intricate with their style of metal, I guess you could say it is a mix of Thrash and Death Metal leaning more towards the Death side. Every song on this album is extremely furious and intense. The guitar work on this album is amazing, searing blazing riffs that will have your head spinning in circles, seriously the dual guitar work of Kappel and Hehman are absolutely amazing. The sickening speed of the drum work by Mathew Behner is completely off the wall. And the throat wrenching Vocals By Chad Zimmerman will leave your ears bleeding. And lastly, I don't know where this all started, but I love Bass Booms, and this album has it's awesome share of it.
Every track on this record are great, it's hard to pick out a single one that stands above the rest, if I had to do so, than I guess I would pick "Economy of Excess" because even though this is a True metal band some of it can still be catchy. I recommend this release to any one into extreme music, any fans of Slayer or Iron Maiden to even fans of As I Lay Dying or Atreyu will appreciate the raw talent and tenacity of this young metal phenomena.
